# What information do I need to provide to register to Blink?

None. You only need a smartphone and internet access. You just download the App and open it. What gets created at that instant is a Trial account that has full abilities to send and receive btc by lightning within certain limits. You do not have to do anything more but we recommend you create a username, and add a phone number and email address, but this is not needed yet, until you need to increase your limits.

Once you've entered your phone number, you'll receive an SMS or WhatsApp text message for account authentication. After that, you can create an optional unique username for Lightning Address and internal Blink transactions.

Please note that the username you create will be visible to other Blink users, so we recommend choosing your username with this in mind.

Once registered it is recommended to [add an email address](https://faq.blink.sv/creating-a-blink-account/pages/LWFpX7jnMU6XksrIQ4ey#add-an-email-address-\(optional\)) which you can use to log in going forward.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://faq.blink.sv/creating-a-blink-account/what-information-do-i-need-to-provide-to-register-to-blink.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
